To, In-Charge of Traffic Police Dept and RTO . Panaji
Nowadays I have observed many vehicles are seen found zooming in the streets of Panjim and also in some parts of Goa having fittings with boot extension at the back of their vehicles for additional storage for luggage or could be to carry some sports gear or even a small boat etc. Such fittings should not be permitted as per the norms of traffic rules as they create safety hazards or accidents in case the rear vehicle coming closer without noticing such extension which could be dangerous. These fittings as seen in the photograph attached, are sharp and protruding behind the vehicle. RTO and Traffic Cell must stop these vehicles and request them to remove or fine, as they are not approved by the transport department. Last month a major accident took place where a driver got injured and died on the spot on account of construction rods piercing on his chest after breaking front window glass of his car. I feel the traffic police must fine them even if they fix the red flag which I think is permissible only for a certain distance that is half of the size of vehicle.
