This is very important to save public money being wasted on Contractors engaged by your Electricity department who are not doing proper duties. For example, I have been watching everyday one person comes to these electricity poles with a motorcycle and switches ON and OFF at odd timings. And sometimes if he does not come than the street lights remain ON for 24 hours. Our colony at Bay View, people have complained several times that the street light is fused nearly a week and no replacement is made. There are quite number of robberies taking place in this vicinity and at Dona Paula area, as the street lights are MUST. I have put up a complaint yesterday ( 20.8.2016 ) to Electricity Sub Dept at Taleigao because it seems we have to report there and not in the main Electricity department Panjim as per the new system. So far nobody arrived to replace the bulb. My pole which is just near to my compound wall having No: LT 014.69/ 1/11 and this gentleman who comes with a scooter never bothers to see whether the lights works when he puts ON as the switch is just on that pole itself. And when I have informed him he tells me that it is not his duty. My point is, if this subcontractor man sends a report to your office, than it is will better for us not waste our time to go to the Electricity dept. to complain, moreover robberies will be avoided if the lights are replaced in time. Will the Chief Electrical Engineer orders this Contractor or puts this system in order to see that the street lights are OFF during day time? and the fused bulbs are replaced in time? This will help also saving public exchequer money.
