---It has been reported in the Navhind Times today on Gandhi Jayanti Day about the plans by the Government to have ferry services from Dona Paula to Marmagoa. It may not be feasible or of great importance to locals commuters but may be interesting trip mostly for the tourists only at the beginning and that too off season and definitely not in the monsoon. As per my experience of my olden days we used to go to Marmagoa by ferry which was not pleasant at all. Main interest was to see the harbour or meet some relatives at the other end. This journey was so boring because of the waves bouncing on the ferry boat and many people on board seen vomiting due to the vessel unsteady on account of pitching and rolling. Only advantage would be that people can reach Marmagoa much early than of road transport. Whatever some comments appeared in Navhind Times today, are from my friends of my age and their part of story would be different from mine as far as journey is concerned. According to me the ferry service will be of no use to locals unless a big steady catamaran is put in service. Or else these plans must be shelved by the Government.
