What Roland has written ( Oct.3.'16) does make sense. I can only add that universal worry of all human beings on planet earth, especially during one's old age, is the fear of the aftermath of death. Obviously, this fear has and still being cleverly exploited by all ideologies called religions. Hence the penchant to praise and thank God for all good things that happen mostly as a result of one's hard work supplemented by medical science.
