His Holiness Pope Francis has just announced 17 new Cardinals throughout the world. It was hoped that Pope Francis would honour our 506 years old Catholic Diocese of Goa of about 300,000 Roman Catholics by conferring the red hat on our Archbishop Patriarch most Rev. Fr. Filipe Neri Ferrao . One can only say that strange are the ways of Goa, taking into account the exemplary behaviour of our Catholic priests during the last 55 years.
