Not at all. I think we must keep a sense of proportion. Definitely any
eve-teasing and assault that may have occurred is reprehensible. And
suitable action must be taken by the authorities and culprits brought to
book.

But what kind of a reaction is it to have a Margao bandh? I am not even
talking about the hooliganism by the saffronites, you have agreed that
that was reprehensible. What prompted a call for a Margao bandh? In how
many cases of eve-teasing and assault do you have entire cities closed
down forcibly (and illegally)?

It is this of lack of proportion in responses that leads one to the
communal agenda. 'Sensitivity' should not mean condoning
disproportionate and communally motivated reactions. 'Sensitivity' to
people's 'hurt sentiments' is leading us to fascism, to wit the
situation in Baroda, where sensitivity to the 'hurt sentiments' of a
bunch of goons and fascists is leading the government to condone and
abet stifling of basic freedoms and democratic rights.

Take action against those involved in any eve-teasing and assault. Also
take action against those declaring and forcibly enforcing illegal
bandhs.
