*The anniversary of World Borikar Convention is celebrated each year along with all institutions of Bori. The function will showcase the developmental work undertaken by the the Bori Development Trust along with the talents of entire Bori village.* *Bori Development Trust confers Bori Awards in memory of proud Borikars, Padmashri Late Bakibab Borkar, Late Smt. Rukminibai Balkrishna Borkar, Swatantraseni Late Laxmidas Borkar and Late Major Dr. Mablu Dotu Borcar instituted by their families. * *“Bori Dhanwantari Bhushan” award instituted in memory of Late Major Dr. Mablu Dotu Borcar to be conferred on Dr. Narayan Hede, ex- Deputy Director, Department of Health, Government of Goa & social worker* *“Goa Samaj Sevak Puraskar” instituted in memory of Late Rukminibai Balkrishna Borkar to be conferred on Shri Ramkrishna Naik of Goa Hindu Association & Sneha Mandir* *“Kavi Bakibab Borkar Smruti Puraskar” in memory of Late Padmashri poet Balkrishna Bhagwant Borkar (Bakibab) Borkar to be conferred on Shri Ramesh Veluskar,, well known poet.* *“Journalist of the Year Award” award instituted in memory of Late Laxmidas Borkar, Freedom Fighter and Eminent Journalist to be conferred on Shri Prakash Kamat, Senior Assistant Editor, Hindu, a very eminent journalist.* *The function will be presided over by Adv. Manohar Usgaonkar, eminent attorney of law and Sanjeev Joglekar, Environmental Engineer of Pollution Control Board shall be the Chief Guest.* *The village residents will be felicitated for achievements in education, cultural and sports. Prizes of kids Fancy dress competition, Cooking Competition for women, Eco friendly lantern making competitions will be presented. * *This year we have involved all students of five government primary schools in Bori for a drawing competition. Our winners will be felicitated.
