The issue was how to deal with unsourced reproductions on the Net. We are still finding varying solutions coming up... not just the cease-and-desist-notices that Dr Santosh was pointing to, from some university template. > Perhaps, the imagined feeling of being pilloried is > having an effect. Someone copying sharable content without crediting it would be doing a rather silly thing, in my view. Why violate a license when it's so easy to stick to it? One of the main reason for "piracy" and "copyright violations" is that the terms are too strict. Microsoft is known to make many hundred percent profit margins, and for this it needs to label some 90% of some countries as its "pirate population". I can't imagine the logic of copyright laws which promise to "promote creativity" by keeping blocks on reproducing content even 70 years after the death of the author! Unlike Dr Santosh, I don't have faith in that god called Copyright. FN > >Placing one's content under the Creative Commons > >license is one such possibility.
