FR PRESENTACAO FURTADO ROAD The Village Panchayat of Sarzora, Chinchinim is honouring Fr Presentacao by naming a Naikwado road in his memory. The inauguration was on 21.Nov.2016 on NH-17 at 5 p.m.,. Rev Fr Oswald D Souza P.P. Assumpta Church blessed the road indicator.. Rev, Fr. Stanley Pereira opened the sign. Mr. John Dias , Director of JOANCIA Marine Services recalled the laudable contributions of Fr on 102 nd birth anniversary, . Born on 21Nov.1914 and passed away 01- Nov, 1980
On this occasion also Fr .Presentacao memorial awards are instituted for the Heads of Schools at Chinchinim by the FAMILY and another by Villagers of Sarzora/Chinchinim & friends were announced to be distributed on 5 Sept, Teachers Day. Fr. was the only teacher from Assolna, Velim, Cuncolim/Chinchinim to be the recipient of both State and National Teacher awards 2-5-1979 . He taught at Ornellas H.S , Poona,St Joseph, H,S. Arpora and architect , Headmaster, Manager at Holy Spirit Margao .He served DSE in various capacities as an administrator, Educationist. Fr was P.P of St. Xaviers Velim and Chaplain at Holy Rosary at Saligao. He was spiritual director at Convents of St Alex, Calngute, Holy Cross, Bastora, St Pius X , Orlim, St Theresa, Vasco He was one of the founders of Priest Association and Priest House at Chinchinim and introducing St Mary of Angels Order and girl education. Fr was actively involved in promoting the interests of Sarzora Church, Cemetery and Assumpta School. Fr. is also being credited with the construction of Naikwadoroad, Sarzora. Fr. Presentacao is a multifaceted diamond, a dedicated priest ,a visionary, dynamic educationist, convincing preacher ,sociable, compassionate and charitable, sports enthusiast, cultural ambassador, passionate social worker and play write A select, large gathering of villagers, friends and family members together with of members of both Panchayat graced the occasion Mrs. Eli Furtado proposed the vote of thanks, Mementos detailing the profile of Fr Presentacao were presented to the people Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
