*GOVERNMENT TAKES A BEATING ON VARIOUS PROJECTS - H By: Jose Maria Miranda* http://www.epaperoheraldo.in/Details.aspx?id=24730&boxid=183251461&uid=&dat=12/3/2016
December 3, 2017 To, The Editor, OHeraldo. Sir, The following is our response to the editorial article above for kind favour of publication. Thanking you, Sincerely, Floriano Lobo, Gen. Secretary/Spokesperson, GSRP Mob: 9890470896 *** The Goa Su-Raj Party appreciates the spirit in which Jose Maria Miranda has expressed his concerns over the functioning of the Goa Government with w.r.t. various public projects , especially the MOPA Airport project, which are under the cloud of being pushed vigourously at huge costs to Goa's exchequer in order for the ruling party to log brownee points on the much touted development of Goa in the coming elections. This Party has been in the forefront of offering its opposition to the MOPA Airport from the start and has gone on record of staging one of its kind anti-MOPA, anti-NAVY 'FLASH MOB' at Miramar, Panjim, on 19 May, 2013 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPpih75Hg-I with the slogan printed on the PPS [People for Political Sanity] T-Shirts worn by the participating kids 'NO TO MOPA' 'YES TO DABOLIM' 'NAVY GET OUT' to send a clear signal to Goans that Goa's Civilian Dabolim Airport is sought to be given to the Illegal Navy on a silver platter to make it the Naval Defence enclave. Numerous such 'flash Mobs' were planned to be held in Goa, but for the sudden and mysterious demise of the Party's dynamic Youth Wing Leader Joselyn Pereira of Divar who was the fountain-head of planning these flash mobs. The very formation of GFDO was the result of a long, hard and prophetic tele-conversation that took place between yours faithfully and Fr. Eremito Rebello, because it was felt that there was a the urgent need of an all-encompassing 'apolitical' movement by Goans, irrespective of political affiliations, to counter the idea of MOPA and have it erased from the minds of all Goans, which idea would devastate Goa as a whole. This Party has tried its level best to convince Goa's regional parties and Goa's activist groups through its two major CONVENTIONS in Panjim and Margao to show case we need to get our acts together to present a collective oppostion through coming together on just 3 main very important issues that confront Goa and Goans in the 2017 elections, which would be the mother of all elections for Goa, the issues being (1) No to MOPA, (2) Navy to shift from Dabolim & (3) No to nationalization of Goa's Inland waterways and Rivers. But the wool that has unfortunately been pulled over, not only the eyes but also the ears and mouths of Goans seems to be taking the toll. And it is a fact that when this wool is pulled out, Goans will not see anything of their GOA that was. Therefore, this Party is at the cross-roads of deciding its involvement in these most vital to Goa, ELECTIONS, 2017. This Party congratulates the author of this article and hopes that on this auspicious day of the Feast of Goa's Patron Saint Francis Xavier, the heavy wool is lifted off the eyes, ears and mouths of Goans, if not for anything else, at least for the sake of the future of their children.
