Salvador Mendonsa was born a hundred years ago and found himself postedto Bangalore when it was a very provincial and very Brit settlement. He joined theranks of Goans who Anglicized their names: Mendens ! He had six children, a son Albert reverted to Mendonsa. Another, Raymond, decidedhe wanted to be MendonCa-Mendens. Raymond's children, young adults now, go as Mendens.
