I thought so but realized that in India some politicians are considered semi-gods or goddesses. Seeing the people gathered at the hospital, wailing and beating their chests, one was shocked. Amma was jailed twice or thrice yet she retained her hold on the people. She helped the people but also looted the state. People fell at the feet when she was alive an I am surprised not to hear of anyone immolating herself or himself on Jaya's death. May her soul rest in peace Eugene
