ONE SIDED SURVEY STEPHEN DIAS DONA PAULA I read The Goan today 17th December, 2016 and found that the report regarding survey conducted by Prudent Media , the Goa Everyday and Goan Varta was, according to me, partial. This survey has projected Manohar Parrikar likely CM hall of fame for Goa and he stands better chance by 26.9% followed by Laxmikant Parsekar with 16.4 % as compared to the others named therein. The other contenders mentioned in the survey are Michael Lobo, Vijay Sardesai and Elvis Gomes who stand at 6.9%.and below. Now, let me react as a voter, that this survey appears to be biased for the simple reason the question is being asked “In what basis this survey was conducted?” I have contacted some stake holders including tall politicians and even our present mayor of CCP Surendra Furtado and they are of the opinion that this survey appears to be bogus since nobody contacted them. I suggest that such survey should have done by taking all the people into consideration, and if so done, than the names of the persons who were interviewed should be disclosed. It looks like at least to me, as stage managed to garner votes to change the mindset of the people for the forthcoming elections. Importantly question is also being asked what kind of work Manohar Parrikar had done during his tenure for Panjim constituency and after doing so many U-turns, still his Panjim is with full of garbage, the increase in the number of casinos and the illegal constructions are still mushrooming in the whole of Goa and his percentage on their survey is far above others? If this survey is conducted taking into consideration, the garbage, the casinos, etc etc and along with number of U-turns taken by Mr. Parrikar than the survey appears to be excellent. Stephen Dias.
