Division of votes With so many candidates vying for recognition in every constituency , the division of votes is inevitable. Who and which party will stand to benefit is anybody`s guess. The lure and attraction of the office of Assembly, everyone thinks it is worth a try and .May be request for withdrawal is also worth the exercise. Independents post elections are traitors changing their allegiance leaving the voters dazed, One can appreciate if the candidate can stand on his own and not lean hopelessly on either ruling party or lIve in the shadows. Hence electing an independent is fruitless exercise in vain. Some small parties have fielded minimum candidates not with aim of coming to power, but riding piggy back on dominant party to fish in trouble waters and share loafs of office and professing not to divide the votes., Standing for elections requires money, muscle power, If one looks at some of the past. Assembly MlA`s one is constrained to ask their merit to represent us the Goans . Candidates mostly plead on emotive issues rather than programmes and even then some of the proposals refer to doles. Coprruption in Goa, drugs, land mafia, casinos are bleeding the identity of Goa. It would be in fitness of things to ask those whose allegiance is towards some other State to shift residence having contributed nothing towards maintaining Goan identity, but simply fattening on the hard earned efforts of others ,jump into the elctoral fray with great anticipTION AND HOPE
BJP had promised the moon , but has disappointed by numerous U-turns and thus had not fared any better than the replacing party. The BJP has forfeited its chance also because national intolerance, demonetization, stepping on the foot of citizens with respect to food, clothes and life styles Do not get carried away once by speech diet of high voltage decibels We are known internationally, but that has not changed our lot here in India, It is wise and best to change parties, candidates everytime no matter what they have delivered as a matter of duty, when in power and position. During their tenure either they are dormant and least bothered to be accountable, Others out of power have remained aloof from exerting their views leaving it to the elected ones to fret it out The likely party to assume reigns of power is difficult to fathom, but past experience may come in handy to make a wise choice.
