:::KONKANI FILM FESTIVAL IN KUWAIT::: ________________________________________ ~Gasper Crasto KUWAIT: Goan Cultural Centre (GCC) under the leadership of President Carmo Santos, in association with T-Bush International Films, and the Konkani Community Kuwait will host a Konkani Film Festival in Kuwait next month. The festival will feature some well-known hits. It will be held 25th & 26th February 2017 (Public Holidays) at the spacious American International School Auditorium, Maidan Hawally. In recent years, Konkani cinema has seen a number of commercially successful and critically acclaimed films made in Goa’s official language. Goan & Konkani films have seen a kind of rebirth, both in terms of the number of films produced as well as the diversity of subjects. In the last decade, three Konkani films have won National Awards. Comedy, music and poignancy are synonymous with Konkani cinema, and the Kuwait festival is sure to share this legacy with film lovers. All films will have English sub-titles (according to the organizers). The event is open to all film lovers alike.
