TO SELMA- "Are you trying to tell me that my new friend Charu is a woman?' Re: it is not the first time on G'net that this has happened. Someone else thought that Charudatta was a woman (despite the indication of the masculine gender in the second part of my signature "Khoro goenkar". Had I been a woman, it should have been "Khori Goikann" ? Perhaps it is because of the close half-rhyme between the more famous Charulata and Charudatta. (although in original Sanskrit this half rhyme effect is impossible, because the feminine words, as a rule, end with an "aaaaaa... or an " iiiii "or "eeeee..", whereas the masculine usually end with a visargah ":" and it is pronounced more or less like "aha". Here I shall have to share with the G'netters the meanings of the two:- Charulata: Charu = Beauty Lata = creeper Charulata = beautiful creeper And Charudatta: Charu = do Dutta = adopted/given in adoption etc. Charudatta = the one who is given in adoption (to the world) by beauty. So dear G'netters, beware! Don't mess with me too much, for I am not yours to be messed with. If you do that, you may incur the wrath of mama Beauty and she may never come visiting your consciousness. By the way, is not my name beautiful? ______________________________________________________________________________ TO SANTOSH - "No babes ever frequented the Chachacha bar"... Cheers, Santosh Re: Dear Bab Santosh, I wonder how someone like you would know that? Given that before you became "Chimbelcho", your home used to be in Gurunath building where the Cha cha cha tavern was housed, it is possible to assume the above. But it is unlikely that You, You Santosh, were so keenly vigilant in matters related to thoroughfares of babes in Cha cha cha! I remember you as a brilliant young student who was diligent in his studies and not study of babe - traffic !!?! Unless of course, you had a balcony view of everything that went on in there in chachacha... I know that if not babes, at least one babe has gone in chachacha to drink gin!!! She was from 'Damao' - Daman. This is un-challengeable information, nor can it be proven, (like the creator!) therefore it is NOT A SCIENTIFIC FACT!!! But it is true. And so we can say, (hello Orlando and the other pro science bores) that facts and truth exists independent of its not being available for tests and tubes (of linear, illustrative inquiery)... which means that creator can or may exist without lending himself to inquiery by scientific methods! ______________________________________________________________________________ TO G'NET EDITORS: How's that both, the Monday post and Today's post carry the same issue number? This is what it reads - Goanet Digest, Vol 2, Issue 396 May 22 33KB, and Goanet Digest, Vol 2, Issue 396 May 21 39KB Note that the sizes and the dates differ but the issue # is the same - 396. Is it a mistake? Archivists, please intervene here. The next dispatch has 398, so I think the one in the middle is #397?
