Dear Sujay Gupta, Herald editor I am not sure whether this letter will be published or not, but still let me give my views to you, Sir. In regards to what some of the politicians spoke in your paper in Politicians Speak column, i agree that Churchil Alemao is more practical in this matter, than any other politicians who gave their views, because he is aware such system can fail. He prefers a locking system by a individual candidate. Although the Election Commission made an elaborate arrangement for 3-tier system but these candidates still have their own doubts that this 3-tier system might fail...
Churchill said in Herald of todays' edition which I quote: <Churchill Alemao, P Benaulim candidate It may not be required to have men of candidates keeping an eye on the machines as the security is quite good. However candidates can be allowed to lock each strong room with their own lock so that the possibility of any threat to the data can be minimised to zero>. In my opinion that even lock and key can be tampered by any Chari's specialist who makes Keys and also at 'KEY MAKER ' shop, which is available near the GPO ( Post office) and other places in Goa. Once I have lost the keys of my room that too of a Godrej make, and when I took a specialist at my house this man made a key without a duplicate key. Therefore, let us trust this 3-tier system and pray to GOD, that nothing wrong should take place, but importantly each candidate can have a vigil throughout the day and night in the vicinity. where these boxes are been kept at the Bal Bhavan custody, of course with due permission from EC , if required. The locks by each candidate can also be fixed for a double check, because there is every possibility that this time some parties may attempt to play mischief.. Stephen Dias Dona Paula h
