GOAN WELFARE SOCIETY KUWAIT (GWS) Elects New Managing Committee:
At the Annual General Body Meeting held recently, the Members of the Goan
Welfare Society- Kuwait, elected 14 members to constitute the Managing
Committee for the term 2007-08. In a peculiar turn of events, one of the
elected members resigned immediately thereafter, citing personal reasons for
his decision. 1- Mr. Alex Wilson Coelho heads the committee as the duly
elected President. The other committee Members are: 2- Mr. Sydney Furtado,
Vice-President; 3- Ms. Sharon De Souza, General Secretary, 4- Mario Rebello,
Jt. Secretary; 5- Mr. Rabindra Pimenta, Treasurer; 6- Mr. Joseph F. X.
D'souza, Jt. Treasurer; 7- Ms. Philomena Rebello, Membership Secretary; 8-
Ms. Muriel Alphonso, Head of Educational Cell; 9- Mr. Cajetan Pereira, Head
of Cultural Cell; 10- Mr. Mario Fernandes, Member Cultural Cell; 11- Mr.
Domnic Araujo, Member Cultural Cell; 12- Mr. Franco D'Souza, Member; and 13-
Mr. Anthony D'Costa, Member. The newly elected Committee is all set to draw
out an elaborate plan for the well-being and progress of the Society.
