------------------------------------------------------- CONVENTION OF THE GOAN DIASPORA FROM GOA INTO THE WORLD Lisbon, Portugal June 15-17, 2007 Details at: http://www.goacom.org/casa-de-goa/noticias.html -------------------------------------------------------
..........................Our guys in Goa seem to have only given the word > "development" a nasty name! > > I gather that in Gabe's eyes Monserrate mostly inherited the wealth > attributed to him despite recent record breaking achievements in > "development". Luizinho's wealth, he suggests, may be ill-gotten in > comparison. Goanetters at least should be clear about such 'subtleties' even > if as Gabe says the rest of the populace takes things lying down. RESPONSE: I trust you have read Valmiki Faleiro's post, on the rise and rise of Luizinho, if not here it is again ! http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2007-May/057085.html The man had a standless Crusader bike ! He was propped up by others at the initiation stage, including the deposit for standing in the elections. Luizinho'sown words not that long ago to the press, was, that he was the highest tax payer in the State of Goa. Say no more.... Monserrate was man enough to admit he was wrong w.r.t the regional plan and resigned straight away, an honourable thing to do. The Congress Government, should then have squashed the Regional Plan, seeing at the so called initiator had resigned but no, they persevered with it until there was some more uproar. This should make it amply clear to the voters in Goa that others had more of an interest in the Regional Plan than Monserrate himself. Rajan Narayan, of the Goan Observer, calls Monserrate a Monster Rat, he also calls Churchill Alemao, a nasty piece of work, who is splitting the vote to get the BJP in. Rajan is still intact, no one has knee capped him. Now if he were to take issue with some others, in the Congress Party, he will surely come a cropper. People, by and large are aware of the malevolent ones and keep a wide berth of them ! -- DEV BOREM KORUM. Gabe Menezes.
