Except for a few principled citizens, most people in India are under the 
general impression that corruption is a necessary way of life and if one has to 
exist comfortably, then one must be a part of the system that requires bribes 
at every turn.

Some of the latter will even wear on their shoulder the badge of support for 
corruption, seeing it as a means to acquire things they are not entitled to.

Hope they read yesterday's TOI report of 3152 farmers in Maharashtra forced to 
commit suicide just last year because to get drought subsidies, loan waivers 
and grants, they had to pay bribes from clerks to mamlatdars and tehsildars 
further agonizing their already frail mental condition.
