Quick response for Road embankment On NH17 at Dandeavado, Chinchinim, after hot mixing the road many months back, resulted in a sharp and dangerous fall of one and half feet from the edge of the road descending into the drainof the road . Only this aprticular stretch remained unattended after recent levelling of the sides for obvious reasons.Telephonic talk and whatsapp pictures had quick response. Our Local MLA of Velim Constituency and PWD officials saw reason, showed sensitivity and urgency .Within a week work, concrete embankment for a side walk in right earnest and in a record time, for a stretch of about 100 metres is completed. The unauthorized private culverts were dismantled and also relocated for proper storm water drain Residents and locals were pleasantly surprised, rather shocked by regular monitoring, supervision of the work executed. It may be noted at the site there were 3 accidents involving a car and 3 bikes slipping into the drain, fortunately not fatal but with minimum damage to self and vehicles. In the immediate vicinity, 2 electric poles were damaged in ghastly and serious accidents. We understand that PWD officials suo mottu have moved in applications to electric Dept to shift the poles .
