Updates of St. Inez Creek where work is in progress near the broken bridge behind Patricia Pinto house.
I reached the spot around 4 .30 PM on 17th May 2017 and saw the creek water flowing towards one side because of the removal of blockage and the water seen flowing into the River Mandovi via the Inox Bridge.. In the left side of the blockage is still intact and not removed..( see photo) but in the right side i.e.towards the Patricia house side the speed of water was such that all debris and larvae went to the river Mandovi. . The flow of running water slowly subsidized until the High tide . Near the Inox bridge side outer part near the river, the contamination of water was seen but it got diluted. ( see photo) All contaminated materials and sewage is seen at the entrance of Inoz bridge..If this kind of exercise continues than the river Mandovi is going to be contaminated but the St Inez Creek clarity will be slowly improving. Before doing this exercise why the surface debris were not removed by the authorities? I am feeling that the contractor presumably under the instructions of Government or superiors orders the creek water blockage was asked to open for the water to flow to the river. Now the creek appears a bit clear at this area only since most of the filth went to the river Mandovi. but at sideways still continues to see. Enclosed 6 photos taken by me between 4.30 PM to 6.30 PM on 17th May 2017 Stephen Dias Dona paula 17th May 2017
