<Goa: Politics is a lot like theatre, a lot of acting, some laughter, tears
and plenty of melodrama. >

Maybe the situation can be understood by a set of conjoined entities.
Politics and government is one such set. When politics is of the "pretend"
or theatrical variety as suggested above then government is also a farce as
is fairly evident for a lot of the time. Then there is the conjoined set of
military and government. When the former exercises a stranglehold over
Dabolim the sole airport of the state, the 'commanding heights of the modern
political economy', then government is bound to be badly distorted. And so
we come back full circle to the politics of the absurd. Does this
explanation hold water?
