Today ( 31.5.2017) we witnessed heavy showers in Panjim at 13 hrs. In front of the CCP building I saw water was accumulated so much that the road was inundated. ( see photo) . It is a shame that CCP could not work for cleaning the drains properly as during the Portuguese regime all the roads were well maintained, unless layout of drain mapping is found missing because every year this is happening. Will Panjim witness the same of flooding elsewhere in the city? The drainage system around the Heritage building ( Praca de Comercio) was never in such conditions even earlier times and the CCP could not even manage to look after that too just in front of their own building. Normally such flooding occurs at 18th June road near Keni Hotel and it is to be seen of other low lying areas were the drains have not been cleaned resulting inconvenience to pedestrians and two wheeler drivers. Another areas were flooding takes place, is in front of Don Bosco High School, and at Miramar, also at ferry point near Congress House building.
