UK :TERRORISM We live in troubled times, my thoughts and prayers for all those involved at the London Bridge incident last night. Also remembering Westminister Bridge recently, another of the seven Bridges across the River Thames that links Goans in North London to Goans in South London.
As I have said in a previous posting it is not the evil that is killing us, but all of us acting like spectators and doing nothing about it as we have better things to do rather than striving to do things better. One of these that comes to mind is the Personnel and operations of the Goan Welfare Society (GWS) Charity based in London . In my view, this new kid on the block has evolved from the hijacking the 50 year old Goa – Goan Association UK whose dereliction of duty goes unabated. Some of these people have even been involved in fundraising telling us of helping poor children become poorer as there has been no evidence of this unaccountable project being successful or even running in the last few years. The new business in Breadline Britain is collecting and fundraising for unaccountable Coffin Funding to Air Freight the newly deceased Portuguese Passport Holder to Goa. Inhouse escorts usually accompany these coffins and one wonders if this is another way of getting a free holiday. When a Basic Eco Friendly Coffin is available there appears to be different GBP rates in appeals at very high prices one would think these were for one or two bedroom coffins. In this Festa dis season most of our organisations serve sumptuous traditional Goan meals and Snacks on paper plates other than the more presentable expensive China ones. This extends to paper table covers and plastic chairs to reduce costs. The generosity and goodwill of our people is being targeted by Financial Terrorists sending begging letters with sob stories to gullible victims. There are also reports of cold calling by Telephone and Committee members of Village Socials being asked to donate from their Raffle collections. It would be a good idea if organisations announced in advance who is to benefit from the raffle collection and how much was raised at the event so that people could make up their mind whether to support the raffle or not. There is evidence that even the church has not escaped manipulation from the Goan Financial Terrorist. With announcements of newly arrived thousands and thousands of Goans how come then the Goan Welfare Society has declared only a hundred members on their books when the Life membership is only GBP one Pound. Our people are not that stupid. If you feel intimidated contact crime stoppers a UK police initiative and put an end to Financial Terrorism instead of being a spectator to evil.
