I have actually landed at that airport. It's no
problem. There is no noise pollution if you are in the
plane. That tiny island (20 miles by 20 miles) is
divided into French and Dutch colonies. The capital of
the Dutch side is called, believe it or not,
Philips-burg :-) It has great diving sites. The unique
feature of the island, to me, is that there is a brand
new prison on a hillside overlooking the main bay at
Philips-burg. For some reason Philips-burg is the
place in the Caribean to race "cigarette boats." 

The prisoners have one of the most beautiful views
anywhere of cigarette boats, sail boats and giant
cruise lines. The view is especially beautiful at
sunset. I would recommend the island to anybody. Make
sure where your hotel is though......
