Cardinal George Pell currently in the Vatican has been charged with sexual abuse and harbouring church perpetrators of such crimes.
He is the third ranking official in the Vatican and is in charge of all its financial affairs. Even if he volunteers to go to Australia to face the charges in court, he will be able to avoid the consequences due to his diplomatic status. So far, he is the highest ranking Catholic Church official anywhere in the world to be so charged. Despite the good done by the Church over the past, the alleged actions of people like George Pell is enough to make one question the existence of Goa.
