A complaint has today been filed with the Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) over the defacement of public property in the city by the BJP during this weekend visit of its Party National President Amit Shah.
In the complaint addressed to the CCP Commissioner Dipak Desai it has been stated that in total violation of law the BJP had blatantly and illegally defaced public property in many parts of Panaji by illegally putting up banners, posters and flags without the requisite permissions and further denying the CCP it’s much needed revenue. In the complaint it has been further stated that this illegal and very highhanded act of the BJP was obviously in connivance and collusion with the officials of the CCP who conveniently chose to look the other way while not upholding the law. Stating that Panaji over the weekend had witnessed complete and gross abuse of power by the BJP with CCP officials acting as stooges of the ruling party, the CCP Commissioner has been urged to order an immediate probe to ascertain which officers were responsible in allowing this illegal activity by the BJP. In the complaint it has been sought that stringent action be taken in accordance with law against the erring officers for having acted as cronies of the BJP in rank dereliction of their duty. It has also been demanded that the CCP recover all the dues from the BJP for having erected banners, posters and flags all over the city.
