Dear Sidharth Ex-MLA of Panjim I was told that the present Panjim MLA Manohar Parrikar is out of station for a treatment and as such I do not want to burden him when you can look after our difficulties. Today Herald reported bad conditions of road from Miramar to Dona Paula and so far nothing has been done to close these manholes which are seen at number of places. Whole stretch of road has no illumination either, as poles and lights are still not yet been fitted. The motorists especially the two wheeler finds difficulty to venture on this road. Today,( 4th July,) when I was coming to Dona Paula at 8 PM, I saw two traffic policemen standing near one of the manhole and trying to help the passing vehicles. I asked them how long they are going to keep a vigil. I saw that they have kept some branches of green leaves nearby, for safety reason and two big stones near the manhole. I said once they leave the place somebody going to meet with a big accident or going for a toss after banging these stones. They said they can't help it as they are under the orders. At the most they may thinking of putting a barricade near this manhole. In that case I suggested them that that this road should be closed at nights permanently until repairs are done or closed the manholes and direct the vehicular traffic to the inner road. The consultants of GSIDC/PWD must be informed to look after all these problems immediately which are posing danger to the public.
