PREZ, VICE-PREZ AND RS ELECTIONS
Stephen Dias, Dona Paula The offices of the President, Vice-President and MPs of the Rajya Sabha are chosen representatives of eminence and prestige. While the offices of the President and Vice-President are the topmost in the country, the Rajya Sabha MPs are the elder statesmen representing states in the upper house. Considering that these representative should be men and women of sagacity and wisdom, iy would be right for all those eligible to vote namely the Lok Sabha MPs, the Rajya Sabha MPs and the members of state legislative assemblies to be given the freedom to cast votes for candidate of their choice who they consider to be with the most merit and experience. If this method is followed the country will have the benefit of services at the highest level of the very best and thus an elevated level of decorum, fairness and justice will reflect in the upholding of the constitution as in case of the President and Vice-President and our upper house will consist of the most credited representatives cutting across party lines.
