I have interviewed main leaders from the stalls of Asthami fair and gave me the impression that that they have been cheated by Parrikar, Mayor Furtado,Commissioner Dipak Naik, and Sidharth. Their traditional yearly business appears thst it has gone on drain. They say bad words to all of them. Today 18th Aug all the papers gives different picture that they have been permitted to shift at the Kala Academy which is wrong news and not going to take place. Upto late evening the situation was so bad that they were crying and helpless. Mayor never gave them even entry in his CCP cabin until Parrikar promised them for allowing to shift at Kala Academy then the Mayor heard their grievances but no promises to return deposited money. Parrikar said that they will get the difference whatever being paid at new location at Kala Academy but they refuse to go there also as they lost the trust of Parrikar and Mayor. It seems Sidharth gave orders to demolish the stalls immediately. This is the way to treat these annual traditional fair?Why CCP accepted payment for the stalls which is frequented by common citizens of Panjim who get a better deal for household goods at good rates? How thst CCP was ignorant of HC order 2007? Whst will be the fallout of the decision of Panjim by-polls? Will this boomerang and benefit Parrikar at the end?They incurred heavy losses by dismantling the stalls and who will pay them? I heard their grievances and said never again they are going to step in Panjim and they will not allow this to happened in Margaoand assured me that Parrikar will lose the by -election. None of the papers supported their views in the contrary the reporting in the papers was completely different. Now Parrikar did another U-turn saying that he appreciated Mayor for taking decision to shift to Kaka Academy whereas he has gone back to his words.If this footpaths come under NDZ zone than why IFFI stalls are allowed. They say Goverment supports Casinos and prostitution? Why wine Grape Esplanade festival n other exhibitions are held in this area when it is marked by GCZMA as NDZ zone? Why double standards?Girish Congress candidate must directly question Parrikar regarding BJP Vision document 2012 and ask where are his promises?They also told me that Kasinath Shetye is also responsible for these stalls not to come in this venue.
