Words like yours turn my blood into ice-water. I have
lived in different countries, I have embraced
different cultures, different cultures have married
into our family, we have given birth to different
nationalities and yet I have never been anything other
than a Goan.

Having a Portuguese surname does not make me less
Goan, having to spend large amounts of time away from
Goa, does not diminish my love for my motherland.
Having to eat hamburgers and pizzaz does not take away
my longing for xacuti and sannas. When I die, wherever
I am, my only request is that they fly my body back to
Goa and bury me where my grandparents lie as do
generations of my family before them. I trust the same
holds true for you.

Choose your words carefully. It's words like yours
that spread hatred in the hearts of a community.
Frankly I think you and Albert should be locked in one
room and made to dance the lambada together.
