I do not believe that Girish Chodankar got any votes due to any of his proven abilities.... Those were mostly anti-Parrikar votes...How many people from Panjim know Girish Chodankar??... ________________________________ From: Eugene To call Parrikar a 'joker" is like hitting him below the belt. In politics, winning is everything. How one wins can be debatable and can be said to be wrongly done or not. --------------------------- GL responds: In India and especially in Goa, voters are interested in economic issues and jobs. So some well-off Goans and retired folks can fax eloquently about quality of life (including pot holes, casinos and political corruption), the folks who vote are interested in a growth economy. So a competing political message and political party has to offer a growth economy and more jobs opportunities. Anything else is "hollow thinking" on the part of the critics and arm-chair politicians. Thus may be the BJP-critics including Congress Party who may be considered as "jokers." Certainly that is the message from Goan voters. Regards, GL
