OPEN LETTER TO HERALDO EDITOR Dear Sujay Gupta,
I know and proud that Herald is the Voice of Goa and we the Goans are satisfied about what is being published in Herald all this time. We all depend on this paper which comes on fact finding issues. Thanks to you and your Management for bringing things open to the public and exposing issues of the BJP Government who are indulging in malpractices and illegalities and destroying our nature and environment. Nowadays, we have seen you deviating with the news coming up especially after the by --elections and you are nowadays mostly focusing on the Government side thus transparency of your reporting is jeopardized or come down. Thus giving a set back to our renowned writers from writing up.. I feel they have been deprived of what they want to express on the public domain. They prefer to write mostly in Herald because Herald is the VOICE of GOA and there is a larger circulation in Goa among all the leading papers in Goa, so far, and many people of Goa reads it. Hats off to Herald for still keeping up the trend. These minor mistakes coming up nowadays, must be looked after and I sincerely request you the Editor Sujay Gupta, to come up by publishing letters and article of very importance on the youth and the public at large. Please give a sort of gap for the daily writers in your paper which you are publishing their stuff almost daily. I am not against them but all others must be given their slot. For example a recent an important article "RE-VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS" by Elvidio Miranda did not come up so far although he has written after a long gap, and mine which is pending on controversial issue where Chairman of GSIDC makes his own point, an articile on PATTO-MALA BRIDGE. Another burning issue on PUNE or DELHI NGT where our Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar puts his weight-age on infrastructure and legal issue etc saying Delhi is superior than Pune NGT,. But it can be altered as Pune also can be made in par with Delhi if he ( CM) is interested. The TA/DA fares are exorbitant and are not affordable to an ordinary activist. Fr. Eremita Rebello , Claude Alvares, Kashinath Shetye, Judith and others activists disagree with CM;s justification and here now Herald must come in the picture. Herald gave the headlines today as GFDO DISAGRESS WITH CM JUSTIFICATION and why not the word ACTIVISTS instead of GFDO, it looks like only Fr. Eremita is interested. Another recent issue of EDM's festivals must be banned in Goa as our youth have gone stray with drugs and narcotics on EDM;s festivals and Auda Viegas of Bailacho Ekvott today said she is strongly objecting EDMs festivals. She says people are dancing continuously non stop dances whole night because of the power of drugs.? Micheal Lobo is planning and demanding that the Government must put on the world map saying Carnival and Sigmo are similar in nature as he is in favour of having EDMs. He is going against his own comrade Paliencar Tourism Minister of Goa, probably Lobo has his own interest? These issues Herald should focus with great enthusiasm and greater vigor by pressing such EDM festivals to stop not only in Calangute, Candolim or Baga belt but everywhere in Goa if any? Will you please take it up as many people finds these issues very important for the welfare of our youth, Sir. Thank You, Stephen Dias Dona Paula 3rd Sept 2017 Mob: 9422443110 Copy to Raul; Managing Editor and Owner of Herald for action plan.
