Hurricane Irma has touched mainland USA at 8:00 AM today.  It hit the Florida
Keys not far from where I was staying about 17 years ago when I did a 6 month
sabbatical in the Keys.  The Keys are the closest thing of being in Goa while
in the USA - palm trees, white ocean beaches all around, plenty of fish to eat,
great tropical ambiance etc etc
However the Keys is just the first touchdown of Irma in the USA.  Due to the
barrier islands and the hurricane travelling north hugging the west coast of
Florida,   Irma will make up to 6 landfalls on the mainland.  I would think
this is not good. When the hurricane is over water, it gains energy, moisture,
strengthens and is active longer.

The destruction the Caribbean islands is reported to be intense.  Look for
massive displaced populations and increased immigration to the mother country -
Britain (and Canada), France, Holland, Spain and USA.
Let us hope the two massive storms (Harvey and Irma both making multiple
landfalls) with a third one on the way (Jose) with the Climate Change in the
background does not foretell of this and future hurricane seasons.
