Thanking You and God Bless.* s/d Geneviva Fernandes. *P R E S S R E L E A S E* FC Bardez, Sporting play *Life Cup* for Cancer Aid Football lovers of Goa have come together to organise a charity match between Goa’s top professional teams FC Bardez Goa and Sporting Clube de Goa on September 23rd, Saturday under floodlights at the Goa Football Association’s stadium at Duler, Mapusa at 7.00 pm. The match, part of a fund raiser, was conceived by football friends from Candolim, in aid of Fr. Victor Rodrigues, Ex Asst. Parish Priest of Our Lady of Hope Church, Candolim and presently the Asst. Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Agasaim, who is undergoing treatment for cancer in Mumbai. “Fr. Victor, an ardent football player and lover of the sport, spent a lot of time with the youth, imbibing them values and principles of life, guiding them on the right path, connecting with them through the beautiful game,” said one of the organisers who played with him, and felt that football was the best platform to reach out. The organisers also humbly request each and everyone to pray for Fr. Victor’s speedy recovery. The charity match will be played for the “Life Cup” for which donation coupons (Entry pass) are priced at Rs.100/- for General seating and Rs.500/- for Reserved seating. Tickets will be available at Saxa's Collections, Candolim, Delfino's Supermarket, Porvorim, Champs, Panjim and at the Duler stadium on the match day.
