A praise worthy act An electric meter reader when billing the consumer, suo motu realized that it was erroneous. The previous reading was in the range of 5000, while the current reading was in 4000 .The demand bill was Rs 33000 plus. Noticing the error he promised to rectify it and which he delivered outside his office hours. There was no tinge of expectations whatsoever, even remotely. Under the existing rules the consumer would be forced to first pay and then protest. It would mean moving from pillar to post to protest with waste of time ,money and effort, besides being burdened to raise such huge sums. THIS SENSITIVITY of the reader needs to be appreciated and rewarded as it is exemplary behavior beyond call of duty. The attention of the authorities is drawn in writing, besides officially showing indebtedness and gratitude to reinforce this behavior
