------------------------------------------------------- CONVENTION OF THE GOAN DIASPORA FROM GOA INTO THE WORLD Lisbon, Portugal June 15-17, 2007 Details at: http://www.casadegoa.org -------------------------------------------------------
Carmo D' Cruz wrote on GoaNet: 'Undereducated Dukors should have no place in Goa ! They perceive everyone to be Communal because they cannot think better' He also wrote: 'Manohar Parrikar is a personal friend of (his) from (their) IIT days and he is not a communal guy' === jc's comments: First of all, please do not ban Carmo D'Cruz from GoaNet. Every individual should be allowed the opportunity to make a perfect whatever of his/herself. NOW: If one juxtapositions the following statements - one finds an interesting situation. Is someone flying a kite? If Manohar Parrikar graduated from IIT Bombay in 1978 and Carmo D'Cruz from Kharagpur(Bengal) in 1982 - WHICH exactly were "their" IIT days? Besides the Kite-Express which connected Bombay to Kharagpur (normal travel time in 1980s circa 16 hours; 1 minute on Kite Express) ...How exactly did Parrikar have the time to become D'Cruz's personal friend (often called 'fast friend' in IIT circles) during 'their' IIT days? Wasn't Parrikar supposed to be working for the RSS and his personal business circa time Carmo entered an IIT several thousand kilometres north east in the boon docks ? Is D'Cruz telling us that Parrikar came to IIT Kharagpur to preach the Gospel? If that is so ..then D'Cruz' uncouth outburst makes ample sense. If anyone else were to tell me that Parrikar is not a 'communal guy', I would have accepted it - albeit half heartedly. But with D'Cruz saying something, my inclination is to just discard it as another of hiw well known kite flying exercises. BTW1: What is it with Catholic Schools run by Goan priests? They appear to be breeding some very interesting individuals with some curious views towards Catholics (the denials having been noted). First we had Ashok Chowgule (St Paul's, Belgaum), then we had Sandip Heble(Don Bosco, Panjim) and now we have Manohar Parrikar(Loyola, Margao). Time to shut down Catholic Schools? BTW2: Better an uneducated person than one who is shamelessly so uncouth as Carmo D'Cruz. Sincerely jc jusht only definitely undereducated references: 1: Mr. Manohar Parrikar B.Tech. IIT Bombay in 1978 [IIT alumni] 2: Carmo D'Cruz is a 1982 graduate of IIT Kharagpur [GoaNet - Carmo] 3: (Parrikar) had part of (his) education in a Jesuit School Loyola, Margao Goa [GoaNet - Godfrey Gonsalves] 4: Mr. Manohar Parrikar - After graduating from IIT, Powai, he returned to Goa to work for the BJP as a committed worker of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.[Rediff.com -S Prabhudesai] 5: Parrikar comes from Goa's influential Saraswat Brahmin community, which is dominant in the world of business and professions, but hasn't had much of a direct say in political power for since the 'sixties.[IANS F Noronha] 6: "I for one believe that Dr.Carmo and his "Type" should be banned from Goanet" [Goanet - Ray Mascarenhas] ------------------------------------------------------- Goanet recommends, and is proud to be associated with, 'Domnic's Goa' - A nostalgic romp through a bygone era.
