The MRI, CT scans, X-Rays and other sophisticated investigations which are scheduled months later for a normal patient, are done within a day for patients with influence. What will the Aam Aadmi or poor people do in such cases where they also needed investigations for their acute illness quickly? Who will help them? They are being asked to go to private labs or they are referred to certain particular private labs locally or even outside the state if they cannot wait for weeks and months. When such investigations are so expensive how will people be able to cope up with their meager/poor salary or no salary? What is the use of the GMC if not for the poor people? The rich can surely afford to go to fancy private hospitals in or outside the state or even abroad. The present Health Minister is the news and seems to be focusing on GMC in other ways. He is putting mechanisms in place to charge Non-Goans patients, garbage spread at GMC campus, security lapses, parking, nursing problems, employment at GMC, etc. Recently he has also started looking into the grievances of patients where dirty/patched bed sheets were issued in the wards and other infrastructure items. Although Vishwajit Rane is not a doctor he must find a way to handle the private high profile doctors as well as top politicians from the ruling side, who are seen taking advantage of the situation, after influencing intern doctors to get their work done. Will Vishwajit step in to stop influence from high profile dignitaries? Stephen Dias Dona Paula 23.12.2017 mob 9422443110
