Some of the laws in India are so obsolete they ought to find place in some
legal museum rather than in citizens’ everyday life.

Take for example a man promising marriage to the woman as an incentive for sex.
In this case to an intelligent woman.

The woman involved must be really nuts to believe a man will get married to her
merely she had sex with him. Of course some sex deprived men are known to have
married women solely because the carrot of sexual favours was dangled. But this
is not the usual case.

Be that as it may: the woman can hope to get marriage in return for sex, or the
man can offer a pretext of marriage in private to her, but by no means can the
law take cognizance of such a promise and turn it into a criminal act by
slapping charges like “criminally disrobing a woman” as in this case.

Indian women must learn to close their thighs until they are actually married
or have as much consensual sex as they want to, without tying it up to
expectations of marriage. It’s common sense that marriages predicated on sex,
have a slim chance of lasting. And that is is nobody’s interest.
