------------------------------------------------------- CONVENTION OF THE GOAN DIASPORA FROM GOA INTO THE WORLD Lisbon, Portugal June 15-17, 2007 Details at: http://www.casadegoa.org -------------------------------------------------------
Dear guirimboy Edward, YES!!! HELP is close at hand and the solution is available to anyone who needs it. It is called 'letting go' of irrational beliefs in supernatural deities who's only purpose is to divide rather than harmonize. It takes a leap away from faith to realize that this is all we have - the here and now - despite what the pundits, imams, rabbis and priests tell us. In Goa, forced conversions gave rise to almost fanatical indoctrination of immature minds within a few generations and differences in ideology was used to drive a wedge between neighbours on the word of their respective gods. Many of these Holy Books were written and modified over spans of centuries, inspired scribes adding and deleting texts to suit their moods and the tenor of the times. All of them were the result of hallucinations of fevered brows from the heat of the middle eastern sun! (Is it any wonder that 'heaven' is described in stratospheric terms as an oasis while 'hell' is like a fiery desert blast!) The oldest religion in the world was not immune to the morphing influences of time and Hinduism today bears little resemblance to what it was 6,000 years ago when the vedic peoples developed rituals to deal with the uncertainties of life. http://www.hinduwebsite.com/hinduintrod1.asp Over the years, our cultures have drifted apart and although they've existed side by side for centuries, are as foreign to each other as if they were on separate continents. It is up to us to break down those barriers of suspicion by working towards common goals. Sincerely, Kevin Saldanha Mississauga. ON. From: edward desilva <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [Goanet] Why Charudatt breaks my heart --------- Reply:- (Selma! this is not directed towards you, but Charudatta). Jewish Religion, Christians, Muslims, have laws to obey - Why? When Religion started there was no Government (Governing Body). Democratic System of Government was started by the Greeks - so much so that they do not believe in Zeus (Jupiter) as Supreme God any more. Now we have Government making laws every day for our benefit. Do we need outdated Religious Laws? Do we still have to believe in Brahma (Jupiter) and Lakshmi (Venus) as gods? Religions took 10% of their earnings as taxes. Gov ts. now take up to 40% or more in taxes. Why are WE still stuck up about Christaum, Kokne etc? Is it OK to cut someones throat coz they criticised someones holy book? IS THERE A SOLUTION FOR THIS?
