------------------------------------------------------- CONVENTION OF THE GOAN DIASPORA FROM GOA INTO THE WORLD Lisbon, Portugal June 15-17, 2007 Details at: http://www.casadegoa.org -------------------------------------------------------
Hay Selma, But that is what Ahmed said it to his wife, din't he? Why are you saying it to me? Because I have apologised to you twice? Here then, my third apology: I am sorry Selma, you 'reap' my apology out of context and paste it on your post to get an 'edge'. Now does that mean we have parted ways? Or you (Ahmed) will wait for a wife to ask you about your lost camel (me) and say "this is one :-" !!? Say it to the wife, not me. ____________________________________________________ Dear Ed, Feel in the rapid political trends an increasing disaatisfaction in human laws of governance (overall decay of the old order) and trace also a certain anarchy that will be "loosed upon the world" ( "Turning and tuning into widening gyre/ The falcon can not hear the falconer//Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold/ mere anarchy is loosed upon the world... Keats?) from which will spring forth a new kind of anarchy. The governing faculty will not be the human ego but l'espirit Divine within. This may sound like a fable to you as yet. It may not come to pass in our lifetime, but I think that it is the enentual certitude and promise. Not my promise to you, but the promise of the One that cares about life on earth infinitely more than all of us put together- the 'force' if you like. Please do not take this reply as my chance to secure an 'edge' over you. Do not also read any intention on my part, to insult you. ______________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 "...The term "Bhat Bamons" is confusing if not incorrect in a Goan context. Correct me if I'm wrong, but "Bamon" (in Konkani usage) is a term usually reserved for Saraswats in Goa...." Re: No. In Goa there are 'Christao bamons' and 'Konknem bamons', and as far as I know, it is a peculiar deviation from the code of the mother religeon . I do not know if the Church recognises casts as they are applied in India. Whereas class distinction is recognised. But India allows the casteist factor to figure in the heirarchy, and although I do not know the 'official' validity of it, in Goa, particularly in Salcette, this sorting is pretty prominantly there. ______________________________________________________________________ yours, Dave! _________________________________________________________________ Catch all the cricketing action right here.
