RESPONSE: Gadgil, since late-2003 when Domnic began sharing his writings with Goanet, at no time did he pretend to be a historian. On several ocassions he has stated that his writings were derived from living/growing in Goa in the 50s, 60s, 70s. From Domnic's Goa (the book) introduction, I quote Domnic verbatim: "These articles are my personal experiences. They tell the story of the Goa I knew. You would find many set around Bardez, in the central Goan coastal area, and sometimes the narration pointedly refers to my home-village of Anjuna. But, I feel, and you might agree, these stories also paint a wider picture of far-reaching social change taking place in Goa over a half-century." I do not believe at any time did Domnic romanticise that Goa = Catholic Goa. If that is the conclusion any of us are making, those are our own. The little adjective, you seek -- 'Catholic' -- to 'solve this problem' would possibly start another, eh?? Controversy?? We must have!! - Bosco Toronto, CA ------------------------------------------------------- Goanet recommends, and is proud to be associated with, 'Domnic's Goa' - A nostalgic romp through a bygone era.
