The ongoing debate on getting the Pope to issue an apology for sexual misbehaviour of priests against indigenous children in residential schools long time ago in Canada has the government under pressure. The Pope is alleged to have said that he's not aware of the full facts. Canada has been noted for issuing apologies to the past discrimination against minorities, including Sikhs for the Kamagata Maru incident. In a book I have, Our Little Secret, by former Toronto Star journalist, Judy Steed, the first chapter details about John Gallienne choirmaster at the St. George's Cathedral in Kingston, Ontario. He ran a child sex ring, with sex with boys, including those of his "best friends." This happened in the early 70s to late 70s. Gallienne was sentenced in October 199o. The book was released the same year, as was his time for release, 1994, and does not cover if he was out of prison. The Church-goers can pray that the church heals itself.
