Talk on accounting software in Panjim PANJIM, May 27: The founder of an Indian free and open source (FOSS) accounting software package is to speak in Goa early next week. Krishnakant Mane is the lead developer of GNUKhata, which is a GST-compliant accounting system.
This made-in-India software is based on double entry bookkeeping. It provides basic bookkeeping including ten types of vouchers; viewing of ledger both single and dual; three types of trial balance, namely Net, Gross and Extended; cash flow reports; project statements (or cost center); balance sheets both in traditional and sources and application style; a bank reconciliation module; three levels of user security, admin, manager and operator. GNUKhata has a unified version for both desktop and cloud/LAN. It was recently made GST compliant. All documents including invoices and Delivery notes are as per GST regulations. Best of all, GNUKhata can import data from Tally-like software through exported spreadsheet from the proprietary programs. See more details at http://gnukhata.in The Free Software User Group (Goa) is to host a programme of Mane, who is a visually-challenged software engineer and researcher, and lead developer/project manager Prajakta to introduce this Free and Open Source software May 29, 2018 (Tuesday) at 91SpringBoard in Panjim http://bit.ly/91springboard-goa (near Broadway, Panjim) between 5 to 7 pm.
