Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar is setting up a Bar & Restaurant along with a Dance floor on the land that was meant to house the Old Goa Police Station.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on 23rd July 2014 in the Goa Legislative Assembly while accusing Pandurang Madkaikar of rampant corruption while he was a Minister in 2004 had alleged that the land proposed by him for construction of a Police Station at Old Goa was deviously purchased by Pandurang Madkaikar himself after threatening the land owner of invoking the Land Acquisition Act. The Chief Minister had also stated that the matter would be handed over to the Anti-Corruption Branch for investigation. https://youtu.be/OVs5xpc2XVE Responding to the Chief Minister Parrikar’s accusation, Pandurang Madkaikar had made a solemn statement on the very same day in the Legislative Assembly that he would donate that land for the construction of the Old Goa Police Station. But he never did so. Now Pandurang Madkaikar should display remorse and donate that palacial bungalow next to the Basilica of Bom Jesus to the Governmnet as it would be an ideal and spacious place to house the Old Goa Police Station and possibly even the Old Goa Fire Station. If Pandurang Madkaikar does that, he may be remembered for the right reason.
