For the past 4 decades Goa has seen nothing but
communalism in various forms. First it was the MGP and
now the BJP. The Goan Catholic electorate is becoming
less gullible with the tiny exception of those
bamonekas in Panjim who have enjoyed both of the best
pre 61 and current colonial rule.
Raising the pedestal for F. Souza is not going to
help. Goans now know the truth of their 'liberation'.

Incidentally, two days ago Gomantak (Marathi) carried
a front-page
article stating that BJP has now embarked on 'Mission
Catholic'.
Apparently having come to realise in a blinding flash
of inspiration
that the Catholic community is alienated from the BJP,
the party is now
out to woo them. The first tokenistic measure it is
taking is
appointing
Francis D'Souza (Mapusa MLA) as Deputy Leader of its
Legislature Party.
