BICHOLIM JUNE 14: Undetered with the failure during the last assembly elections the Bicholim Congress candidate and the block president, Naresh Sawal, has stated that he will work for the taluka and will carry out several pending projects with the help of the government. Sawal who lost in the June 2, 2007 elections against sitting BJP MLA, Rajesh Patnekar said this while speaking to media persons. Speaking further Sawal expressed his satisfaction over the success of the Congress in Goa. "I am indebted towards all those who showed trust in me and i will be committed towards the promises that i made before the elections" Sawal said, adding "the election has showed that the Congress has a strong vote bank in the constituency and so i will work for them." About his failure Sawal came down heavily over MGP and stated that the votes that the MGP polled made all the difference and led to his defeat. Stating his priorities Sawal told that the long pending demand of the Bicholim bridge will be fulfilled besides the primary health centre will be upgraded. "We will also try to get an industrial estate at Latambarcem or at least an industry which will help to solve the unemployment problem in the taluka" Sawal told. He also stressed on the need of a sewage treatment plant, sports ground in every panchayat besides basic eminities for the villagers.
