Budding footballers cry foul in Goa Armstrong Vaz Author Budding footballers staying in close vicinity of Cuncolim Union Sports Project in a vilage in Goa are up in arms against the unsporting attitude of the office bearers of the club as the sport facilities constructed at tax payers cost remains out of bounds for local youths. Enthusiastic youths of Cuncolim staying in close vicinity of Zulpa Shet wanted to cash in on the recently concluded World Cup enthusiasm by having their own version in their backyard. They wanted to enjoy the thrills of playing the poor man’s game and what better option than to play on the ground which is a stone’s throw away from their home, constructed by using government funds. The locked gates of the Cuncolim Union Sports Project, constructed on the same place where once stood the locally famous Zulpa Shet, were out of bounds for them. Their spirits has since been dampened. The low feeling is not on account of the rainy season but more so they have been denied use of the ground by the club authorities. more.....................
