The Goa Government has been failing to comply with the directions issued by the Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC ) in 2015 that proper food and mobile toilets be provided to the police personnel posted on duty during the sessions of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
The GHRC had observed that not providing meals, drinking water and toilet facilities to the police personnel posted for long hours during the Assembly Sessions was a clear infringement of Article 21 of the Constitution of India and also amounted to violation of their basic Human rights. How many times does this very insensitive government have to be reminded that our police personnel are Human beings and so should be treated. The Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police need to intervene to this ill-treatment being meted out to our cops.
